Now, how about connecting the “replacement player” stats to salary? Sort all NBA players by 2010 salary, then compare their stats to replacement-level players at their position, and “replacement-level” salaries. See who’s the biggest bargain/who’s the most overpaid.”
We’re all about fanservice here and flattery gets you everywhere. I’m also still on travel and have no time for a long post so here are the WORP inaugural underrated/overrated for the 2009 Regular Season ( I will add 2010 after Prof. Berri completes his regular yearly article, its one of my favorite pieces and I wouldn’t want to step on it )
Too Subtle?
Here’s the list of the underrated:
The Bigs do exceedingly well on this list with Noah, Gasol, Camby and the “clearly overpaid” Okafor (at least according to the pundits) jumping on to the list. If I’m a GM I would really,really love to have to take Okafor’s contract as the price for Chris Paul. Think about it, you get the best point guard alive and an above average center/pf as a “penalty”. God I love the NBA.
